Monitoring Committee for setting up and operating the electronic data base on good practices on audit quality

Good practices

The VII EUROSAI Congress held in Krakow in June 2008 discussed the theme 'Establishing an Audit Quality Management System within a Supreme Audit Institution'. As a result of the highly interesting presentations and discussions held during the Theme Session, the working group in charge of preparing the Congress theme was mandated to produce a guide on corresponding good practices. The document Achieving Audit Quality: Good Practices in Managing Quality within SAIs was elaborated by the working group, and approved by the EUROSAI Governing Board in its meeting on 4 November 2010.

At the VIII Congress in Lisbon in June 2011 it was decided to create a Monitoring Committee for setting up and operating the electronic data base on good practices on audit quality, for developing and keeping updated the work done by the EUROSAI Working Group for drafting a Guide of Good Practices on Audit Quality created in 2008. The Chair of this Monitoring Committee was the SAI of Hungary. Further members were the Supreme Audit Institutions of Denmark, Malta, Poland and the Russian Federation and the European Court of Auditors. The aim of this initiative was to assist the smooth operation of the Database as well as to provide SAIs' experts involved in quality management with online access to good practices of EUROSAI member SAIs.

The Xth Congress dissolved the Monitoring Committee for setting up and operating the Electronic Database on Good Practices and mandated the State Audit Office of Hungary to continue the operation of the Electronic Good Practices Database on its own website.
