| Comments | The audit was targeted at the preparation of both employment policy measures from the perspective of sustainable general government finances and employment-related fiscal policy measures by Prime Minister Sipilä’s Government. An overall picture should be drawn of employment measures and their impacts on individual wellbeing and general government finances. This would make it possible to get more diversified and comprehensive data to help the government in the selection and preparation of measures. Employment-related measures are prepared in several ministries, and no overall picture of them has been drawn. The National Audit Office recommends that the Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, should publish a summary of the measures taken to achieve the targeted employment rate on a regular basis. The aim is to compile information on employment measures and assessments of their costs and their impacts on employment and wellbeing. |
