| Comments | This report examines the progress made to date by the Irish National Shared Services Office (NSSO) on a project to implement a financial management shared services (FMSS) model across a range of Government departments, offices and agencies. The business case for the FMSS project envisaged total expenditure of €47.4 million (excluding VAT) and delivery of the completed project by June 2020. Currently, the project is significantly behind the original schedule and the final cost is likely to be well in excess of the amount projected at the start of 2016. A Government decision in September 2020 approved the continued deployment of the system over an extended project timeline to 2025, with additional funding which brings the total approved budget to €115 million (including VAT). |
