EUROSAI - ECIIA Joint Seminar in Brussels

On 11 May 2017, 66 delegates from 22 EUROSAI Members and 15 ECIIA Chapters met in Brussels for the EUROSAI-ECIIA Joint Seminar. The event, hosted by the Court of Audit of Belgium and chaired by Mr Gijs de Vries, marked the culmination of the EUROSAI-ECIIA cooperation that started in 2011. The seminar was opened by the President of ECIIA and the Vice-Chair of EUROSAI. The topics presented and discussed at the seminar include cooperation between SAIs and public sector internal auditors, international certification in audit, using the work of internal audit in SAI financial auditing, SAI methodological approaches to analysis and control of the efficiency of internal audit, risk management in the public sector, national cooperation agreements between SAIs and internal audit in Europe, implementation of a multilateral national cooperation agreement, the new Internal Audit International Professional Practices Framework, audit committees in the public sector in Europe, prospective vision of public sector audit evolutions in Europe. The seminar report and presentations as well as two papers prepared by the EUROSAI-ECIIA Cooperation committee, concerning audit committees in the public sector in Europe and national cooperation agreements between SAIs and internal audit in Europe, will be made available soon via the EUROSAI website.
