SAI of Lithuania invites to join the established EUROSAI Task Force on Municipality Audit

44th EUROSAI Governing Board Meeting held in the European Court of Auditors, Luxembourg 13-14 June, 2016 agreed to create the Task Force on Municipality Audit (TFMA).
The activities initiated and organized by the SAI of Lithuania revealed that many different reasons determine relevance of municipality audit sphere to many EUROSAI SAIs. Local governments are the closest level of government to the citizens and play crucial roles in creation of the well-being for them. Therefore, it is important to focus more of our attention on multi-level policy actions and on local data, in this way creating pathways from the local level to meeting global goals. Due to this and seeking to transform external municipal auditing system to more efficient and lastly, the SAI of Lithuania initiated the creation of TFMA.
With the Invitation Letter SAI of Lithuania encourages SAIs interested in the area of municipality audit to join the membership of the EUROSAI TFMA.
