National Audit Office of Lithuania will hold SIGNALS 2020 in November and is inviting EUROSAI members to attend the Conference

29 septembre 2020

On 25 November 2020, the National Audit Office of Lithuania (NAOL) will hold the 4th National Conference on Sustainable Development SIGNALS 2020.

The slogan of SIGNALS 2020 – EXPLORE. CREATE - will lead the discussions, invite to explore signals and create changes in the areas highlighted this year: data and its importance to public administration; relevance of education, and climate change. The conference topics were identified by exploring global realities and NAOL priority areas. Prominent government, academia, and civil society leaders as well as officials from the World Bank, OECD, UNESCO, European institutions, and independent foundations will give speeches and take part in discussions aimed to answer the questions posed by conference sessions:

  • (DO) WE SEE THE TRUE PICTURE (?)
  • (IS) EVERY STUDENT IMPORTANT (?)
  • (DO) I CARE ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE (?)

SIGNALS conferences held since 2017 centre on the Sustainable Development Goals: from education, to budgetary governance, to healthcare, to social welfare. SIGNALS 2020 will focus on education and its role in closing the achievement gap and reducing the digital divide as well as actions needed to reduce the impact of climate change. Presentations on the latest NAOL reports and insights will also address these topics.

Last year’s event saw 500 participants and was broadcast live on the National Radio and Television. SIGNALS 2020, planned as a live and an online event with simultaneous English interpretation, will reach an even wider remote audience who will be able to engage in polling and Q&A sessions. It is for the first time that SIGNALS 2020 will be open to all members of the EUROSAI community. Registration for the conference will start on 1 October 2020.
