 Welcome to EUROSAI’s website!

I am very pleased to welcome you to the web site of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI).

When EUROSAI was established in 1990, no-one was able to predict the importance that the Worldwide Web has acquired today. Especially for an organisation like ours that has brought together the SAIs of currently 47 European states, the Web is an ideal medium, an easy and fast way of communicating and exchanging thoughts, ideas and lessons learnt. It fully supports the objectives of EUROSAI.

These objectives are becoming ever more important as European integration is progressing. No nation lives in splendid isolation and specific problems can be tackled effectively only in a joint and coordinated effort. Such international cooperation needs reliable structures and these are provided by EUROSAI.

Thanks to the strong commitment by EUROSAI’s members in working groups and committees, tangible results are achieved continuously generating large benefits for all parties involved. This web site shall also become a forum for presenting such results.

I wish to give my sincere thanks to the SAIs of Denmark and Spain for redesigning this web site. I would be happy, if it helps strengthen cooperation among European SAIs.
